INFO:
Los Banos in Merced County is cleaning up homeless encampments in the city. Like many cities across the state, Los Banos recently passed a no-camping ordinance. But instead of pushing people out, they’re actually providing tents and surrounding them with resources, along with essentials for clean living, like toilets and dumpsters. This encampment is near police headquarters. To stay, the Police Chief says each person needs to keep their plots clean and follow the law. Projects, like this one, are being funded with nearly $12 million that the city received from the state last year.
